X3 CNC Project Underway · Aug 28, 21:28

OK, this is a bit of a teaser, but we really wanted to show you that the X3 CNC conversion is well underway. The plans have already been drawn up but we wanted to get a more details worked out before publishing them. We are working on the Grizzly G0463, which is essentially the same as the Harbor Freight version. Both are made by SIEG in Shanghai, China.

Above you see a picture of the X-axis NEMA 34 motor mount.

The goods news is that as is customary with figNoggle Designs’ approach to CNC conversions, we have once again been able to maintain full manual functionality with the mill. This means that even with the Sieg-implementation of the Z-axis handwheel located up front, we are able to keep this in tact while allowing for CNC movement.

We’ll have the plans out shortly!

Please stop by the workshop to see how things are moving along. We’ll be sure to post more pictures in the coming week.

Happy CNC’ing!
